We all are aware that skilled and competent personal in Child Protection is a big problem in Child Welfare Sector.  To address this the Government of India has taken a new initiative to align higher education with the emerging needs of the economy so as to ensure that the graduates of higher education system have adequate knowledge and skills for employment and entrepreneurship. It is a course where more importance is given to practical education than the customary theoretical education. The government has started Bachelor of Vocational Education (B.Voc). B.Voc is a regular 3 years degree recognized by UGC (University Grants Commission of India). Just like BA/B.Com/BSc. there are many specializations in B.Voc. https://www.sve.tiss.edu/index.php?p=home

It has multiple exit options as :

Diploma (after 1 year)

Advance Diploma (after 2 years)

B.Voc Degree (after 3 years, i.e. end of the course)

Degree and Certifications are awarded by TISS-SVE

Eligibility for admission: 12^th passed, 10 + 2 or equivalent, in any stream.  

Admission Extended deadline is JULY 15, 2019.

Tata Institute of Social Sciences has appointed Centre of Excellence in Alternative Care as their Training HUB to conduct classes of B.Voc in Child Protection, which would be helpful in creating a workforce with practical knowledge and with more employability.
